Whitney Houston Found Dead At 48, TrueClefMusic Tribute: “A Song For You” Best Performance of Her Career!!!

Chart topping R&B singer Whitney Houston has died. Her publicist Kristen Foster confirmed the 48-year-old’s passing on Saturday but but did not mention cause of death.

According to a friend close to Ray J, the “One Wish” singer allegedly found Houston dead at the Beverly Hilton.

Houston ruled the pop and R&B charts from the middle of the 1980’s to the late 1990’s with classic hits like “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “Saving All My Love for You” and many more. She also had massive success outside of music with films like “The Bodyguard” and “Waiting to Exhale.”

She’s considered to be one of the greatest vocalists of all time, defining what it means to be a true diva; powerful voice, beauty and never overtly sexual. Her impact on music influence singers like Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera to name a few.

The final years of Houston’s career was hampered by drug abuse and low album sales.

“The biggest devil is me. I’m either my best friend or my worst enemy,” Houston told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an infamous 2002 interview with then-husband Brown by her side.

Her untimely passing comes on the heels of the upcoming film Sparkle as well as a planned remake of Waiting to Exhale.

This is remarkably saddening.. I’ve always been a big fan but with big voiced singers, everyone has there favorite, there was never an official Queen but I have so much love, honor and respect for Whitney Houston, one of the greatest voices ever and one of the sweetest people in the industry.

In the end she fell victim to her demons but she had a stunning career, Billboard and radio records, hundreds of millions of albums sold and an influence not too many other divas can claim of this music, the art of singing and this generation. This is a great lose to the industry and the fans…

RJDaMonarch & TrueClefMusic love you so much Whitney, R.I.P love…

The Grammy’s is tomorrow and are reportedly flying big voices like Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson and many others out rehearse the perfect tribute all night and most of the day tomorrow.. I imagine it’s going tobe a pretty emotional ceremony given the show airs live less then 24 hours after this tragic news. Pray for Whitney’s family, loved ones and the divas that will take the stage tomorrow night to pay homage to one of, if not the greatest vocal performer of our time..

Below is my favorite performance by Whitney, “A Song For You”, my tribute to her:
