Frank Oceans Reveals New Album Details!
Frank Ocean is riding high! He’s scooped a few Grammys, sold some records and earned the respect and collaboration of iconic musicians like Jay-Z, Pharrell & Beyonce but with this second album he’s aiming to outdo himself!
CraveOnline reports the following of his new album:
Frank Ocean is already working on his sophomore record and said he’s already recorded nearly a dozen tracks for the follow-up to ‘Channel Orange.’ Ocean explained that he’s already connected withPharrell Williams for some studio time and added that he’d like to record with Danger Mouse and Tame Impala.
Ocean is planning to extend the last song off of his debut into a full-fledged theme for his sophomore. “I’m like what, 10, 11 songs into this next thing. I don’t know what to tell you other than that it’s another cohesive thing bordering on a concept record again. At the end of ‘Channel Orange,’ there’s ‘Golden Girl’ and this beach scene, and I want to extend that feeling to the next record altogether to make it that theme. So I’m going to Bora Bora when I get back … and work for a few weeks,” Ocean told BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe.
Ocean explained that a collab with Danger Mouse isn’t certain and expressed his appreciation of the Australian psychedelic rock group Tame Impala. “I’m getting in with Danger Mouse when I get back to the States. Usually when I meet those guys, we’ll sit. If we happen to write something, we do. It’s just cool to feel it out first. It has to be right just as far as chemistry goes. But I love Tame Impala. Tyler [The Creator] put me on to Tame Impala,” said Ocean.
Ocean added that he’d rather hit the studio than launch an extensive tour to support ‘Channel Orange,’ but he is planning to make some time this summer for live performances. “I can’t tour for two years straight because I have to record. I plan on getting out this summer,” said Ocean.
