keys at the superbowl

YESSS!!! It’s been confirmed; Alicia Keys will sing the half time show at this years superbowl game!! As we all know, Beyonce will be headlining the half time show, should be EPIC!!

We love Alicia but she’s had some questionable vocal performances over the last couple of years, many argue that she’s lost a great deal of her voice. We hope she can pull it all together and kill the national anthem!

Alicia Keys Reveals “Girl On Fire” Album Art!!

Ugh…… It’s trash…… We don’t like the title and now the cover gets to match.. We love Alicia Keys, her voices, her music, her writing but this cover…. no ma’am!

The album will drop 11.27.12 and the new single will premiere at the VMAs this next month. We wish her all the best but as of right now, we’re not excited about this project..

Hmmmmm….. “Girl”? We think “Woman On Fire” would have been a more fitting title for this 5th studio effort but we aren’t on payroll at J Records so….. lol… We love Alicia, love “New Day”, just hope this album is really about new beginning like she recently discussed via her website..

The first 2 albums were EPIC, timeless studio efforts but the last 2, while containing great music, seemed forced… We’re looking forward to hearing more from and about the project!

Alicia Keys “New Day” New Single & 2012 Album!!!

Alicia Keys makes her return with “New Day”, an upbeat, soulful, party track that sounds like the production work of husband, Swizz Beatz!

We love Alicia BUT we have mixed feelings about this track.. It’s fire, don’t get us wrong but the first 3 albums were lead but incredibly transparent, intimate, soulful ballads.. “Fallen”, “You Don’t Know My Name”, “No One”… This song is NOTHING like those pieces.. Again, we love it but it’s a little trendy, like she’s trying to reach her fans and ppl that never really f**** wit her before, the beginning of a cross over….

Albums due this year, late, probably between Halloween and Thanksgiving so we shoud get at least one more single and maybe a few leaks before album is officiall on shelves, hope the soulish r&b is still in tact..

Jennifer Hudson Hard At Work On 2012 Album!!

Jennifer’s last studio effort was full or big ballets showcasing her titanic voice but none of it inspired us.. It seems like the woman with the big voices are plagued by sh*** a&r work, weak producers, weak promo or all of the above..

That said, we want her to come hard with album #3, hope Clive is on his toes… All of r&b’s divas will drop an album before the year is out.. Mariah Carey, Keri Hilson, Alicia Keys & even Beyonce are all recording highly anticipated follow ups!

SingersRoom reports the following:

Jennifer Hudson is ready for the studio. Following her NAACP Image Award win for the sophomore album “I Remember Me,” the “Think Like A Man” and “I Got This” singer has confirmed plans to record new music this Summer.

“I’m getting started on my third album this summer, and I have a few films in the works,” Hudson said on the red carpet at Samsung’s Hope For Children Gala earlier this week. “I’m now just getting back out there and into my rhythm again, so one day at a time.”

As previously reported, Jennifer Hudson will soon begin filming for a new movie titled “Lullaby” as well.

Also starring Amy Adams, Garrett Hedlund and Terrence Howard, Lullaby focuses on a son and his estranged father.

Hudson’s last album, “I Remember Me,” featured songs like “Where You At ?” and “No One Gonna Love You.”

Whitney Houston Found Dead At 48, TrueClefMusic Tribute: “A Song For You” Best Performance of Her Career!!!

Posted in J RECORDS, NEW ALBUMS, NEW MUSIC, NEWS, POPULAR MUSIC, R&B, trueclefmusic, TRUECLEFMUSIC.COM, WHITNEY HOUSTON with tags , , , on February 12, 2012 by JupiterDaTruth

Chart topping R&B singer Whitney Houston has died. Her publicist Kristen Foster confirmed the 48-year-old’s passing on Saturday but but did not mention cause of death.

According to a friend close to Ray J, the “One Wish” singer allegedly found Houston dead at the Beverly Hilton.

Houston ruled the pop and R&B charts from the middle of the 1980’s to the late 1990’s with classic hits like “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “Saving All My Love for You” and many more. She also had massive success outside of music with films like “The Bodyguard” and “Waiting to Exhale.”

She’s considered to be one of the greatest vocalists of all time, defining what it means to be a true diva; powerful voice, beauty and never overtly sexual. Her impact on music influence singers like Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera to name a few.

The final years of Houston’s career was hampered by drug abuse and low album sales.

“The biggest devil is me. I’m either my best friend or my worst enemy,” Houston told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an infamous 2002 interview with then-husband Brown by her side.

Her untimely passing comes on the heels of the upcoming film Sparkle as well as a planned remake of Waiting to Exhale.

This is remarkably saddening.. I’ve always been a big fan but with big voiced singers, everyone has there favorite, there was never an official Queen but I have so much love, honor and respect for Whitney Houston, one of the greatest voices ever and one of the sweetest people in the industry.

In the end she fell victim to her demons but she had a stunning career, Billboard and radio records, hundreds of millions of albums sold and an influence not too many other divas can claim of this music, the art of singing and this generation. This is a great lose to the industry and the fans…

RJDaMonarch & TrueClefMusic love you so much Whitney, R.I.P love…

The Grammy’s is tomorrow and are reportedly flying big voices like Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson and many others out rehearse the perfect tribute all night and most of the day tomorrow.. I imagine it’s going tobe a pretty emotional ceremony given the show airs live less then 24 hours after this tragic news. Pray for Whitney’s family, loved ones and the divas that will take the stage tomorrow night to pay homage to one of, if not the greatest vocal performer of our time..

Below is my favorite performance by Whitney, “A Song For You”, my tribute to her:
