The divas will face off at this year’s Mtv Video Music Awards. Beyoncé and Lady GaGa dominate with nine nominations apiece at the 26th annual show.

“I’m excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs,” Beyoncé told MTV News “I’ve been blessed this year to have ‘Single Ladies’ become a video people really connected with and responded to. I think I’mma end up doing a weekly chart tidbit, just talking about whose advanced, whose sinking like a ton of bricks, whose making big moves on the Charts. Billboard is one of my most  trusted and reliable sources for not just chart positions but credible media concerning todays most popular artist across genre lines.

Here are this weeks Billboard Hot 100 Top 5:

1) Poker Face – Lady GaGa

2) Right Round – Flo Rida

3) Solja Boi Tell “Em – Solja Boi featuring Sammie

4) Dead and Gone – T.I featuring Justin Timberlake

5) Blame It – Jamie Foxx featuring T-Pain

This week Lady GaGa scored her second number, impressive… Her debut single “Just Dance” rest at #9

I don’t cut for Flo Rida so I’m not even gonna comment.

Solja Boi is a mess but I’m glad someone finally threw Sammie a bone. He’s a really talented, underrated singer…

All of T.I’s singles have been top 10 hits and eventually have crowned the Hot 100. He killed it with this album. I’m real proud of the King of the South. He’s doing it real BIG before he goes away for a while…

Jamie Foxx cracks the top 5, veryyyy good. “Intuition” is one of the best R&B albums of the time!

magic

Ciara’s duet with Justin Timberlake excels to the top 10, making it the best charting single from her upcoming album “Fantasy Ride”…

“If you seek Amy” advances 2 spots, 26 to 24

Beyonce’s “Halo” jumps 28 to 23, while her anthem “Diva” drops 38 to 50…

Kelly Clarkson’s comeback single “My Life would Suck Without U” falls to a respectable #7

Kid Cudi makes a move from 18 to 11 and may be top 10 when the chart is updated next week…very good but I haven’t cut for him since those weak comments about retiring… Maybe he’ll find a way to get back in my good graces…

Next week expect The Black Eyed Peas to crown Billboard for the first time with “Boom Boom Pow”

So….. with the return of Britney Spears to the game, radio and the charts the public has begun understandably comparing her to resident Queen B…Beyonce. As of right now it’s pretty much a draw. Where one lacks the other excels: Britney’s a better dancer, while Beyonce can sing circles around her…

There albums both shifted 505,000 copies in there first chart weeks but the metrics have changed since then… Below are the current chart positions for both divas:

Beyonce:

“I am Sasha Fierce” – #9 Billboard 200

“Single Ladies: – #30 Billboard Hot 100

“Halo” – #28 Billboard Hot 100

“Diva” – #38 Billboard Hot 100

Britney Spears:

“Circus <album>” – #22 Billboard 200

“If U Seek Amy” – #26 Billboard Hot 100

“Circus <single>” – #17 Billboard Hot 100

Both Beyonce and Britney’s first singles have dropped out of the top 50, “If I were a Boy” and “Womanizer”

As you can see Beyonce’s album is still selling strong at #9 despite backlash from some fans and bits of the media. Britney’s album is way back at 22 but her singles are performing much better then Beyonce’s…”If U Seek Amy” is probably going to crack the top 10, if not become her next #1 hit, while I don’t see “Diva” or “Halo” performing those feats for Beyonce…

Both divas are on the road right now. Britney is packing arenas and selling out stadiums all over the states while Beyonce cleans house in Canada and Europe. At the end of the year I’ll be able to see more finalized sales for there albums, know what there singles did and the concert revenue can be tallied. Can’t wait!

FYI:

Jamie Foxx and Keyshia Cole’s albums debuted on the same day but he’s selling well…right under Beyonce at #10 while Keyshia is chilling at #26. Maybe she come harder with this next album…

Kanye sits happy at number #18 after “808s and Heartbreak” debuted way back in November, very good Mr. West!

Kelly Clarkson has the number one album in the country with “All I Ever Wanted” seizing the top spot!

The Dream lands at #4 after debuting at #2 a couple of weeks ago…

good-girl

Rihanna proves to be perhaps the biggest chart diva since Mariah Carey at #49 after 144 long weeks on the chart…going on 3 years.  4 or 5 number one singles off “Good Girl Gone Bad” alone. That’s a BAD chick right there!

LET ME FIRST SAY THAT THERE AREN’T TOO MANY ARTIST THAT EXIST OUTSIDE OF THE REALMS OF URBAN DANCE, MAINSTREAM POP AND HIPHOP THAT I CUT FOR BUT KELLY IS ONE OF MY EXCEPTIONS.

SHE CAME HARD WITH HER SECOND ALBUM. SHE RACKED UP 3 OR 4 NUMBER ONE HITS AND REALLY PROVED HER WORTH.SHE’S THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ARTIST AMERICAN IDOL EVER HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH AND I LOVE HER MUSIC. HER 3RD ALBUM WASN’T NEARLY AS SUCCESSFUL BUT IT APPEARS SHE’S GOT THE FORMULA RIGHT ONCE AGAIN WITH THIS NEXT RELEASE. HER NE SINGLE “MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU” SHOT FROM THE 90S ON BILLBOARD STRAIGHT TO #1 IN JUST A WEEK. MS CLARKSON IS BACK. IF THIS NEW ALBUM IS ANYTHING LIKE 2005’S “BREAK AWAY” IT”S GOING TO BE SOME ICEY WEATHER OUT THERE THIS YEAR FOR MANY. SHES THE MORE HARDCORE POPROCK VERSION OF BRITNEY SPEARS AND HER FIRE IS JUST AS HOTT.

THE NEW ALBUM “ALL I EVER WANTED” IS ON IT’S WAY
