Mariah Carey “#Beautiful” Ft Miguel!!

We love it but it’s definitely not what we expected. Miguel clearly did most of the production work on the song, sounds like something off his first album but much more radio friendly.. The song is beautiful and even though it isn’t the r&b ballet everyone was expecting from these 2, most will be drawn in by the songs sincerity, the honest lyrics and Mariah’s vocals.. This is something that’s going to hit the ground running, especially given the massive promo campaign Def Jam is launching in support of this record and Mariah’d new album, rumored to drop some time in July!

The diva will be dropping the official video for the song via Idol this week. She also has performances scheduled with Oprah, Good Morning America, The Today Show and possibly The View on top of performing it live on Idol’s finale!!

After all the bullsh** Mariah’s had to deal with via American Idol this season, here they come, running to her to ensure the finale is a success, running to her to boost ratings… They’re afraid of NBC”s “The Voice” and want to make sure they remain the #1 talent show on network tv..

That said, Mariah’s going to drop the official music video for “#Beautiful” via Idol on May 8th, 2 days after the song is scheduled to hit radio and iTunes. She’ll also be performing the single on the Finale, though she might be doing that solo since Miguel is on tour at the moment, opening up for Alicia Keys..

The diva returns in just 2 days, new music and a new album coming this summer! This is going to be Mariah’s year!!

Mariah Carey’s Over American Idol??

That’s what the word is. Apparently Mariah won’t be using the show as a platform to introduce her new single, “Beautiful” featuring Miguel, instead she’s booked GoodMorningAmerica on may 24th to showcase the new music… The diva is reportedly over American Idol, which saw it’s lowest ratings ever this season, a decline that’s been becoming a greater and greater annoyance for Fox in the past 3 or 4 years…

Do I know what’s going on at American Idol? I know what you know. But I also know what was said today. Mariah Carey, American Idol judge, is launching her new single not on theIdol finale but on Good Morning America. She’s booked for May 24th, eight days after theIdol finale. Carey is not scheduled to sing on Idol and she hasn’t all season.

Both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez used Idol to launch singles a year ago. And Keith Urban has performed this season. But Carey has remained behind the judges’ desk, even though she has a single- “Almost Home”- from Oz the Great and Powerful, a major box office hit. Suffice to say, something is rotten in Hollywood. Oz was a huge hit. Singing the single onIdol would have been the proper synergy. Instead, “Home” disappeared and no mention of it was made on Idol.

Carey’s new single is going to be hot, too-it’s a duet with new star Miguel. But there’s a lot going on in the background. GMA is #1, and Idol ratings are the lowest they’ve ever been. It’s unclear whether Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe even wants Carey to perform. Or whether Carey, unhappy with the way the show has gone for her, would ever deign to get up on their stage.

Now American Idol still has four weeks to go, that’s eight shows. And on May 8th it goes up against The Voice on NBC- the ratings report the next morning is going to be wild. So stay tuned. And never bet against Mariah. She will be around long after American Idol has named its final winner.

Miguel Will Neither Confirm Nor Deny Involvement On New Mariah Carey Album!!

The rumor mill has been spinning ever since Mariah shouted him out via Twitter for his performance on SNL and his overall musicianship. Word has it that Miguel and Mimi have been in the studio and have completed at least 4 songs together that will be considered for the final cut of her 2013 album which is still yet to be titled… Neither party has confirmed nor denied these rumors so at this time, anything is possible.

We’d love to hear them on some tracks together though. Miguel is brilliant and Mariah has only gotten better with age, like a fine wine. The Dream, R Kelly, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and others have already been confirmed as collaborators! With the album scheduled for a summer 2013 release, we could hear a new single any day now!!!

Mariah Carey To Headline Glastonbury 2013!!

YES!!! Ms Carey is currently in talks with event planners to headline the festival!

Nothing is official and according to the rumor mill, both Rihanna and The Rolling Stones are being considered too!

This would be GREAT promo for Mariah’s new album, epic but we’ll just have to see where the chips fall!

Mariah Carey 2013 Album Update!!

Mariah’s gearing up for a massive, disney funded promo campaign for “Almost Home”, her latest single from “Oz; The Great & Powerful”, while judging American Idol and putting the finishing touches on her 2013 studio effort! The diva has enlisted lots of old friends and a few new ones to push the boundaries of her creativity and musicianship!

Billboard reports the following:

“It’s a lot to juggle, but I’m handling it,” Mariah Carey says while driving to an evening studio session in Las Vegas for her new album. In town for the Vegas Week segment of “American Idol,” the first-year judge was on her way to meet up with producers Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox after having put dem babies to bed. “It’s about making sure I have tons of good music, because at the end of the day, that’s the most important thing,” says Carey, who had worked with the pair (“We have our own chemistry,” she adds) until 6 a.m. that morning from the night before. She’s also enlisted producers Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream and Rodney Jerkins for tracks on the set.

Declining to reveal the album’s title, she does allow that there are a “lot more raw ballads than people might expect.” There are also uptempo and signature-type songs that represent her different facets as an artist. “Wherever we go with this project, I’ve tried to keep the soul and heart in it,” she says, “with me obviously as the through-line.” According to Dupri, “One particular song is definitely going to be a huge fan favorite, in my opinion.”

Carey’s last non-holiday studio album, 2009’s “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” debuted and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and sparked the hit “Obsessed.” She’s excited about collaborations with her No. 1 “Honey” cohort Q-Tip and DJ Cassidy this time around. The singer didn’t specify if her collaboration with Q-Tip and DJ Cassidy would be for the new album.

“I was and still am in a very prolific space,” says Carey, who recently released the single “Almost Home” for the March 8 Disney film “Oz the Great and Powerful.” She co-wrote and co-produced the song with Stargate; a David La Chappelle-directed video is coming soon. Whether it or her 2012 single “Triumphant” with Rick Ross and Meek Mill will appear on the new album remains to be seen. In the meantime, Carey says she’s enjoying her creative streak. “I could say, ‘Let’s stop now.’ But that’s not who I am, and that’s not what I want this record to be. I really want the fans to love this record.”

We first heard the 29 second snippet via soundcloud a few days ago. It was just the songs climax and it got us an fans the world over really excited about this record. After hearing the track in full, we love it but it would have been nice if she employed the “bitch move” voice throughout the track and not just towards the end.

Nevertheless, it’s a sure hit. With promo dollars coming from Disney, a huge stage to promote on American Idol and millions of fans eager for new music, it’s going to be hard for Ms Carey to miss! The song is already #1 on iTunes in several countries!!

The new album is still under construction but a friend at Def Jam tells us it’s nearing completion and could be ready but the summer!

Mariah Carey’s American Idol Demands!!

In addition to the full diva treatment, SingersRoom reports the following demands Mimi’s made of American Idol and the network:

Mariah Carey is not only concerned about her well being behind the scenes on “American Idol,” she’s also making demands for twins Moroccan and Monroe (Dem Babies).

 

According to Radar Online, the “Triumphant” singer wants a “dressing room fit for a queen” and “organic baby beds in a toy filled playspace.”

 

While that sounds reasonable, sources say the “playspace” must be big enough for not just her and the twins, but for Nick Cannon to play in.

 

As previously reported, Carey signed an $18 million deal to appear as a judge and mentor on the upcoming season of “American Idol.” She surpasses Jennifer Lopez, who received $12 million last season.

 

“American Idol” returns January 2013 on Fox.

Mariah Carey will be honored as a BMI Icon at the BMI Urban Awards, scheduled for Friday, September 7 at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Carey will join a group that includes the Jacksons, Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Al Green, the Bee Gees, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton — selected because of their “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.”

Mariah Carey 2012 Album Update!!

The buzz has been extremely high regarding Mariah’s latest studio effort, which is yet to be titled. “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel”, her 2009 album was a complete MASTERPIECE, overlooked by the Grammy Academy and most all but her true fans, TrueClefMusic included. We loved it and it’s gotten us and most of the Mimi faithful through for the past 3 years but it’s time for new music!

Mariah’s reportedly been in the studio with Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Jermaine Dupre, Drake and even Beyonce, recording and shaping the jewel that will be her 2012 studio album!

Her last non-holiday album, ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,’ released in 2009, was primarily produced by Grammy Winner Tricky Stewart. Carey remains closed lipped regarding the details on her forthcoming effort, building anticipation with the mystery of the project.

Last week, she unveiled her newest track “Bring It on Home,” a special ballad inspired by President Obama. She debuted the record at a special Democratic fundraiser held in New York City’s Plaza Hotel last Thursday.

She’s been going through lately with Nicki’s health problems and Whitney’s death, she almost started crying talking about her. I didn’t know they had remained close over the years.

Mariah Carey To Replace Nicole on U.S X-Factor??

Call it a clash of the divas! Following a tumultuous first X Factor season, Nicole Scherzinger is rumored to be leaving … And to have a pretty pricey replacement: None other than the best selling female artist of all time, Mariah Carey, may fill the Over 30s judge’s designer shoes!

Sources have been whispering that because Scherzinger wasn’t comfortable seeing contestants get eliminated, she wanted out. Once Mimi heard the news, she reportedly let Simon Cowell know she’d be willing to take Scherzy’s place.

The move, while dramatic, would hardly be surprising. Scherzinger was rumored to have a potential country switch with U.K. X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, but it appears that may have fallen by the wayside as she focuses on other projects. In an interview in December, Scherzinger revealed that she was looking forward to finally finishing and releasing her long-delayed album, Killer Love, and that she wanted to focus on a burgeoning acting career as well.

Scherzinger’s rumored emotional motives are also likely to play a role in the decision. The former Pussycat Doll faced massive backlash when her deadlock vote sent fan favorite Rachel Crow home. “I’m used to being on stage and performing and singing for people and people cheering for me,” Scherzinger said. “I am an artist first, not a judge first! The elimination process for me has been very difficult.”

For her part, Carey has always been welcome on X Factor — but factors like weather, scheduling and cash kept her at bay. Cowell was determined to find a role for Carey on the series. When it was decided that she would be his guest during the judges’ home auditions, Hurricane Irene nixed her travel plans. In December, Carey’s request for a $300,00 payout to perform “All I Want for Christmas Is You” with teen phenom Justin Bieber was denied.

While we’ll miss Scherzinger — tears and all — we’d love to see what advice and sass Mimi has up her sleeves!

YES!!! This would be great for Mimi, she’s has a hilarious personality but we rarely get to see it! The show will reveal a side of her most ppl don’t know, the funny, sarcastic, almost child-like Mimi.

The one thing that worries me is her work load. Billboard’s Queen is recording a new album right now and is rumored to be back on the big screen before the years out. She was suppose to play a role in Tyler’s 2011 film, “For Colored Girls” but discovered she was pregnant and had to drop out a day before recording began. She therefore owes Tyler a film!

Take that into account on top of promoting the album and possibly touring, the X Factor job seems like much.. Oh and I almost forgot about the twins!! #WorkFlow

Mimi’s a hard worker though, as we all know. I’m sure she’ll be fine as long as she gets enough rest and takes care of the beautiful instrument. 

Oh and expect the new album in April, no official word yet, just a feeling 😉
