Beyonce Claims “4” Wasn’t About Singles, Talks New Film Roles!!!

King B recently released her fourth studio album, 4, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart but its first week sales were her lowest to date. The set’s singles “Run the World (Girls)” and “Best Thing I Never Had” also has not performed like previous releases from the 29-year-old superstar but fare not; Beyonce is happy with the results. 

Beyonce is adamant about the “body of work” she wanted to accomplish, noting this album wasn’t about chart toppers. 

“This album was a labor of love. It was not about singles,” she told Reuters. “I felt like the emotion and live instruments and just soul (were) missing out of the music industry, especially the popular music that’s out. I wanted to bring it back to the music I grew up listening to. It’s like a mixture of the ’90s and the ’70s and rock-n-roll.” 

This new take-charge approach will become prominent to Beyonce fans as she transitions into taking full control of her career. 

“It just feels like no one else can tell me how I am supposed to perform, and I think it’s what separates the Michaels and the Madonnas from the artists that are great but are just not quite the Michaels and the Madonnas,” Beyonce said. 

The 16-time Grammy winner is also gearing up for her lead role in Clint Eastwood’s remake of the film, “A Star Is Born,” calling it the “biggest opportunity” of her career. 

“I met with Clint and I was so nervous and I know that it is the biggest opportunity of my life. I will work as hard as I can,” she said. “Because I can’t wait. And I am so happy that he trusts me and I am in good hands and I am so fortunate.”

Beyonce “Best Thing I Never Had” New Music!!!

I actually like this song but Beyonce’s label is clearly FISHING for a 2nd single.. We’ve heard “1+1” and “Til The End Of Time” already.. Now Vevo comes with this new track. We’ve NEVER heard this much of Beyonce’s new music through official outlets on  ANY of her other albums…

This is the best song I’ve heard thus far, all other singles left me wanting more. This one will likely pick up at radio and be the next video we see from B…

Beyonce “Run The World (Girls)” Rises 76 to #50!

After a live performance of the song and the release of the official video ALOT of us are feeling it much more then we did upon first listen. Beyonce’s a visual artist and she’s been known to turn a room temperature track into a hot single with a sickenng video (Single Ladies) of a FIRE performance (Deja Vu).. (I loved “deja vu” from jump). This song is HORRIBLE but I haven’t been able to stop humming it and dancing to at my desk since the video debuted and the performance didn’t make matters better lol…

We’ll see what happens next week #ShoutOut my shawty Retro, he loves him some Beyonce…

Beyonce 2nd Single “Til The End of Time”!!!

I like the song but it’s not enough… Back in 2010 Nicki Minaj released “Massive Attack” and it flopped on the charts and at radio but she rebounded with “Your Love” a amazing hophop/r&B single that assured an amazing first week sell stat for “Pink Friday”… “Til The End of Time” should have been that kind of track but it’s just okay… It should have been a “Crazy In Love” or “UpGrade U” but it’s just…..ok….

Expect the video to surface soon, SONY is going to do everything they can to get the word out about this album and push this single. If this single fails the album will follow…

Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)” Falls To #76!!!

The song is trash but the visual which premiered the other night is EPIC! That fact aside, I doubt it’s enough to save the single. The song drops to #79 this week on the hot 100, it’s fallen each week it’s been present on Billboard and I believe it’s got 2 to 3 more weeks before it drops off all together…

THE VIDEO IS EVERYTHING!!! The b**** is a real dancer now, a full fledge dancer!

I still don’t like the song but the visual really helped. I’m afraid it may be too little too late for “Girls”, the song is falling off the charts and this video needed to be another “Single Ladies” to save the song…

Beyonce “Run The World (Girls)” To Premiere On American Idol!!!

Beyonce will premiere the music video for “Run the World (Girls),” the first single from her forthcoming album “4,” during “American Idol’s” Top 3 performance episode on Wednesday (May 18).

After the video was originally set to premiere on Vevo last Friday, a rep from Sony confirms that the Francis Lawrence-directed clip will be unveiled during the two-hour episode of “Idol” tomorrow night. Last week, Beyoncé released a minute-long teaser of the video, which showed the pop star commanding a futuristic army, riding a bucking horse and posing in front of a burning car.

“It’s definitely riskier than something a bit more…simple,” Beyoncé told Billboard.com of her new single. “I just heard the track and loved that it was so different: it felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don’t go together — to create a new sound. I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal. That’s how I’ve gotten to where I am.”

Hmmmmmm….. Against the grain huh Beyonce…. I’mma leave her alone. I hope the premiere of this video will help salvage the single but I know better. The song hurts my ears unless it’s up really loud in a club type atmosphere. I actually danced to it last weekend, drunk and twisted of my a**, it was hot! I tried to listen to it this morning and it just wasn’t happening lol. 

The next single is CRUCIAL!!!

Beyonce “Run The World (Girls)” Slips Down The Chart To #48, Sony BMG is AFRAID!!!

Hmmmmmmm….. I told y’all that if the video for this song didn’t premiere last week that the song would suffer and it appears I was rite… “Run The World (Girls)” slips 15 spaces, from #33 to #48.. This is HIGHLY unusual for Beyonce and Columbia is flipping OUT!

(Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation” rises from #54 to #43, 11 spaces #shade)

The Rumors:

* Columbia is talking about scrapping the video and labeling this single a “promo single”

* Columbia is pressuring B to bring Matthew Knowles back to team Beyonce

* Columbia is over-reacting to the tracks failure to perform at radio and has pulled 60% of the selected recorded material for the album. 

* No album title and release date had been determined but Columbia nor Beyonce has released this information to avoid push backs… (I was told 7.4.11)

All those stars are rumors at this point and the label isn’t NEVER gonna let any of that information see press release. The project can’t afford to lose ANYMORE confidence.
