TMZ/FOX News report the following:
Openly gay singer Frank Ocean was called a “fa**ot” by Brown or one of his cohorts, before Brown punched him in the face and threatened to shoot him during an alleged brawl last week. Drama ensued as, according to Ocean’s statement to police, two of the singer’s posse jumped in to help Brown , pushing him into a corner and attempting to kick him. Ocean reportedly refused medical treatment initially, but was later taken to hospital.
Earlier this week, a sheriff’s rep announced that the investigation over the assault will soon be closed without charges filed, and Ocean also released a statement on his Tumblr page to declare this he forgives Brown and simply wants “peace.”
A rep for Brown did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

On Tuesday, L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey announced that the singer failed to provide “credible, competent or verifiable evidence” that he completed his court-ordered community service, as allegations swirl that Brown may have fabricated his documents.
On August 25, 2009 the singer was sentenced to 180 days of community labor and was granted permission to complete this order in his home state of Virginia as part of a five-year probationary for assault in the highly-publicized altercation with girlfriend, Rihanna.
But whether or not he actually fulfilled such duties is now under suspicion.
Bryan T. Norwood, the Chief of Police in Richmond, VA., wrote a letter to the judge on September 14, claiming Brown went above and beyond the call of duty and successfully completed 202 days of community service, with odd jobs including window washing and picking up trash.
But Los Angeles officials aren’t buying it.
In a motion filed by Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray, it was requested that the court decline to accept Brown’s community labor in Virginia due to what appears to be “significant discrepancies indicating at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting.”
Brown’s mother has also been brought into the fold of question, as the documents indicate that the rapper supposedly frequently worked at Tappahannock Children’s Center – a place where his mom was once a director and still has her own set of keys – and she submitted the times, location and types of duty Brown partook in. The detective who had been assigned to oversee his service was allegedly also told that she was not required to monitor him at the Children’s Center.
According to TMZ, Brown was on tour during some days he was listed as having been serving the community, thus it is practically impossible that he was able to do so.
The D.A. is asking that the courts not only reject Brown’s service submission, but order him to complete the days of labor in Los Angeles.
And that’s not the only violation probation concern clouding the performer.
It appears Frank has opted to let it go… He’s recently being quoted as saying he’d like “forgiveness and peace” out of the whole situation, the fight that unfolded in a L.A parking lot, outside a studio where he and some members of Odd Future encountered Chris Brown and his flying monkeys…

That sent Breezy over the edge and he had to put his foot in Frank’s a**, knocking the grammy nominated singer completely unconscious! Odd Future had to carry him into the studio where they called the police…
Chris is clown’n in the press every month, it’s always something but this could be what sends him to jail for a while, especially if Frank decides to press charges..

After reports surfaced recently that Trey Songz was arrested for an incident at his album release party at a gentleman’s club in Queens, NY on August 22, the woman involved is sharing her side of the story. According to reports, the R&B crooner allegedly threw money at Donna McIntosh-Inoe, “embarrassing” her and leaving her with injuries.
McIntosh-Inoe told the NY Daily News that she paid $700 to sit with Trey Songz in the VIP section of Perfections located in Woodhaven, New York. She claims every woman in VIP was taking pictures with Songz, but he became angry with her after she snapped a picture.
“Everyone else was taking a picture,” she told the Newspaper. “The difference for me and the other girls is that they were naked and I had clothes on. He tried to delete the picture, but he didn’t know how to use my phone … It was insulting that he just threw something. He was verbally disrespectful as well … he embarrassed me in front of everyone in the club.”
As far as her injuries, McIntosh-Inoe claims Songz threw money in her face, leaving her with a week long black eye.
“He chucked a wad of cash at me. A wad of cash. I didn’t even know I had a bruise on my face until after I left the club. I had to walk around a whole week with a black eye,” she adds.
Songz went to court for the incident and he was slapped with an order of protection. He is due back in court in February 2013.
It seems this isn’t going away anytime soon but the readers know where we stand… We don’t care what Mariah did or said… She’s an iconic diva, musician, singer and song writer that should be reverenced, not questioned and NEVER attacked like this!

The second installation of Nicki Minaj’s three-part E! special “My Truth” picks up on the set of her video shoot for “The Boys,” but as the show progresses, the YMCMB rapper addresses the fallout from her “American Idol” feud with Mariah Carey, and specifically Barbara Walter’s involvement in the beef. When Nick first finds out that footage of the blowout has leaked, she explains to Mack Maine that the cameras did not capture the moments leading up to that, “20 minutes before that happened, she egged me on and I walked off – I stormed off the stage because didn’t wanna do that,” she told the Young Money president. “So I left and when I came back it was another jab.”
“She’s admitted that she did not want another female doing the show, thinking somebody’s coming to steal her shine,” Nick added. “And nitpicking, nitpicking, nitpicking – I don’t do well with that passive aggress sh–. I’m not gonna allow it no more. I can’t. I work and keep it moving, I don’t even f— with the people in this business.”
Later, the subject comes up again during a private flight, after an episode of “The View” which found co-host Barbara Walters reporting that Carey had increased her security after Minaj threatened her life, calling the rapper “unpredictable.” Nicki was unable to contain her disappointment with Walters for quickly taking sides.
“I really felt good when I left yesterday and then I hear that Mariah went to Barbara Walters with some more fabrication that even the producers told her was never said,” she explained. “Telling Barbara I said something about a gun, which everybody knows that I’m way smarter than that. Literally my jaw was just hanging open and I was in shock. I’ve never in my life said anything regarding a gun.”
Nicki reveals that she didn’t want to speak out about the video immediately, in hopes that the controversy would blow over quickly, but no such luck.
“Am I not good enough for you to get my side, because I’m a little black girl that raps?” she said, addressing Walters directly. “Because if I was J. Lo, you would’ve called J. Lo’s camp. But are we not good enough for you Barbara? ‘Cause you wasn’t even there when I was on the show Barbara. So I guess I’m not good enough but I’m only good enough for you to tell people I’m ‘unpredictable,’ when you don’t f—–g know me?”
While the video clip seemed to suggest that there might’ve been some deep rooted beef between these two, Nicki maintains that she still respects Mariah tremendously. “Why would I wanna have a rift with someone I’ve looked up to my whole life? I’ve loved her and even told her that in the meeting. Actually I’m happy that Mariah’s on the panel because I think that’s a great thing. You’ve got one of the best singers than ever sang ever in the world. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, but the fact that you had a problem with me being on there and that’s why there’s an issue.”
In spite of all the accusations, Nicki reiterates that no one will run her off the show.

T.I. continues his domination of the media world by adding a second novel,Trouble & Triumph, to his ever-growing repertoire of talents. The rapper, actor, reality show star, and author visited L.A.’s “KTLA Morning News” to discuss his new book as well as his acting career and his reaction to Rick Ross and Young Jeezy’s backstage brawl at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
Tip shared that the feedback from his first book, Power & Beauty, was so strong that fans urged him to write a sequel quickly. In fact, once the plot line and characters were established, the second novel was easier to pen than the first.
“It was actually easier, because I had a starting point,” he said. When asked if the novel’s street love story was inspired by real life, the King of the South laughed it off. “Nah, these are entirely fictional characters.”
The show’s anchors questioned the rapper about his thoughts around the recent BET Hip Hop Awards fight between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, but T.I. appeared to be oblivious to what happened.
“I didn’t even know about the fight,” said Tip, although he did attribute male ego and pride as being the root of most fights.
“Men everywhere, we have huge egos and lots of pride,” he said. “I don’t know that particular incident personally, but most fights that I hear about, it’s about pride and ego. I can’t speak for every case. I don’t know much about this case.”
During the awards, T.I. performed a medley of songs off his upcoming albumTrouble Man, due December 18.

Christina Aguilera hasn’t felt this way in a decade. The singer is reflecting on the eventful two years leading up to the release of her fifth studio album, “Lotus,” from her home in Los Angeles — a period that heralded the commercial disappointment of her album “Bionic”; a divorce from husband Jordan Bratman; the release of her first movie, “Burlesque,” and its accompanying soundtrack; her highly successful stint as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice” and accompanying appearance on Maroon 5’s mega-hit “Moves Like Jagger.”
The last time she felt so inspired, the result was 2002’s Stripped-a creative breakthrough that helped distance Aguilera from her teen-pop peers and produced memorable hits like “Beautiful,” “Dirrty” and “Fighter.”
Due Nov. 13 on RCA, “Lotus” refers to the “rebirth” Aguilera underwent both personally and professionally, opting not to work with longtime songwriting partners like Linda Perry in favor of such newer collaborators as Alex Da Kid, Sia, Candice Pillay and even pop maestro Max Martin, on first single “Your Body,” which hit radio and iTunes last week and bows at No. 33 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart this week.
Like on Stripped, Aguilera dips into many genres-from dance-pop on “Your Body” and “Make the World Move” (a duet with fellow “Voice” coach Cee Lo Green), piano-driven power ballads (“Sing for Me,” Sia collaboration “Blank Page”) and rock-tinged empowerment anthems (“Army of Me,” “Cease Fire”). The album even opens with a quick sample of M83’s “Midnight City” on the title track, an experimental table-setter where Aguilera resolves to “leave the past behind/Say goodbye to the scared child inside.”
Alex Da Kid, who first teamed with Aguilera for 2010’s “Castle Walls” on T.I.’s No Mercy, worked with Aguilera on several Lotus cuts with songwriter Pillay, many of which were recorded at her home studio. “I’ve worked with big and smaller people, and the more established people can get stuck in their ways and say they’re not open to critique,” Alex Da Kid says. “She definitely had a strong opinion, but she’ll go with the best idea in the room. She’s anxious to go back out on the road for the first time since 2007’s Back to Basics tour, having canceled 2010’s Bionic tour due in part to poor ticket sales. “It’s been a joy to be a part of other people’s journey, to be able to inspire and be a part of new singers coming up in this business,” she says. “But I was starting to get really worried and concerned that I wouldn’t have the time to go and be an artist again.
“Mark made it very clear that these chairs are always our chairs,” she continues. “He said, ‘I understand the only reason the show’s going to work is if it doesn’t get stale.’ And he totally understood that I needed something to fulfill my creative soul, and said, ‘This chair will always be yours to come back to whenever you do what makes you the best.'”
However long Lotus keeps her away from “The Voice,” it likely won’t be permanent. “I’ll probably be back. I just need to do my thing for a minute, then I can come back and be that much better of a coach. I just need a second to get back to me.”

Roman returns this fall. One year after releasing her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki Minaj has announced plans to re-release the project.
She made the official announcement on the red carpet at the VMAs. “I’m releasing my album in November called Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up,” she told “E! News.”
The repackaging will include new material, with the first single to arrive next week. “I’m putting lots of new songs on there and I’m actually going to drop my new single like next week,” she said, while teasing, “Barbz, you are gonna spaz. You are gonna love it. You are gonna go crazy!”
However, she remained tight-lipped when the talk turned to “American Idol.” “I don’t know yet. I really don’t know,” said Nicki, who couldn’t stop smiling when asked if she would join the judges’ table alongside Mariah Carey. “I have no comment on it.”

Yesterday, news broke of the “A Milli” producer making disparaging comments about Swizz Beatz, saying Alicia Keys’ hubby just was not “relevant” anymore. However, Bangladesh is now claiming that his comments were simply taken out of context and that Swizz is indeed relevant.
While plenty of people did agree with Bang’s initial sentiments, many came to Swizz’s defense. A discography that is swollen with past hits (NORE’s “Banned From TV,” DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” Jay-Z’s “Money, Cash, Hoes”) as well as recent work (Jay-Z “On To The Next One,” Drake “Fancy,” Nas “Summer On Smash”) was the usual evidence that Swizz is very relevant. Then Bangladesh started copping pleas while answering some of Swizz’s defenders on Twitter. When one @’d him with “u need to chill out n that Swizzy talk my G,” Bang responded in kind with, “@dflowonline swizzy wasn’t relevant in my interview my G. The lady who wrote that is trying to make a name for herself.”

Chris Brown earns his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, as “Fortune” debuts atop the chart, selling 134,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. It follows his last release, and first No. 1, 2011’s “F.A.M.E.” That album launched atop the list with 270,000 — more than double the start of “Fortune.” Brown is the second R&B hitmaker in a month to debut at No. 1 with a comparably soft launch. Four weeks ago, Usher‘s “Looking 4 Myself” started at No. 1 with 128,000. That marked a significant slide from the 329,000 first week of his last full-length album, the No. 1-debuting “Raymond v Raymond.”
Had it not been for Brown’s new “Fortune” release, we would have seen a surprise return to No. 1 for Katy Perry, as her “Teenage Dream” set zooms from No. 21 to No. 2 with 80,000 (up 417%) — and its best sales frame since Christmas of 2010. The set was one of 20 titles the Amazon MP3 store sale priced for 99 cents — for one day only — on July 3. (Perry also benefits from buzz earned by the release of her “Part of Me” film, which hit U.S. theaters on July 5.)
In the industry today, it’s not popular but often necessary to have a broader appeal then just the hiphop or r&B community.. The urban market is a great place to be but they don’t buy music like the commercial market does.. We just don’t support our artist on that level and there are consequences for it… It doesn’t matter who the artist is or what they believe, the label is in this to make money and if the urban market isn’t buying the music they want everyone to make, Def Jam, Jive, J or who ever is going to put there artist in the studio with more commercial producers and more commercial song writers to pay the bills….. It kills us how quick ppl are to call someone a sell out but don’t own any of the music thats undisputed…………. #foolish

What is today’s definition of R&B ? When does an R&B artist become too pop ? Is Usher a sell out ? Diamond selling “Euphoria” singer Usher tackled recent criticism over his new album “Looking For Myself,” talk of him going too pop and more in a recent interview.
Admitting his music is different that what might be expected, Usher says the goal with “Looking 4 Myself” was to create a “non genre specific record album.”
“I’m not only an R&B artist. I’m not only a pop artist, but I do have music that leans more R&B. As a matter of fact, every time I go all over the world and play “Climax,” people can try to identify. Is it a pop record? Is it a R&B record? Or is it just a record that people like? I think that my point was to create just a non-genre-specific record-album and that’s what I hope Looking 4 Myself is seen as,” says Usher.
With singing rappers and rapping singers, Usher believes R&B has opened up to a point where there should be no boxes or barriers.
“While R&B artists are admired for having incredible voices, it seems now that a rapper could be an R&B artist. It seems now that an R&B artist could be a rapper. There’s really no barriers, no boxes right,” Usher tells The Boom Box. “And that was my whole point. Why I think a lot of people have began to assume, well R&B isn’t as poignant as it used to be, really I just feel that the philosophy of how we do things are different.”
So should other R&B artists, those labeled as such, follow suit ? Usher says you have to be open now, not content with one lane.
“I think we have to be open to different styles of music and just be experimental and that right there creates a new following. That’s how styles like rock, punk were created. By way of just mixing and matching things. So that was my idea and the reason why I decided to work with electronic producers,” says Usher. “I think that music is reciprocal. I think that what might seem like old will, in a minute, feel like new. And I think that as long as people can continue to invest in it, it’ll continue to be relevant.”
But is R&B dead, like some have said recently ? Usher believes the genre is not dead but needs new perspective.
“I don’t think that R&B is dead, I wouldn’t say that but I do think that new ideas allow a different perspective and that is what my contribution is there,” says Usher.

When it comes to rivalries, Young Money’s First Lady remains loyal to her team. During an interview with Tim Westwood, Nicki Minaj shared her thoughts on the beef between her labelmate Drake and collaborator Chris Brown.
“Young Money till the death of me,” said the “Beez in the Trap” rapper when asked about the headline-making brawl, while adding, “I don’t approve of doing things that aren’t conducive to an amazing career.”
She shared details of the conversation she had with Drizzy. “I spoke to Drake and I told him from the bottom of my heart how I felt,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘Baby, you are a superstar and I need you to realize that.’ He did nothing wrong, of course, and rumors are rumors and that’s what it is, but I told him it’s time to remember who you are.”
She advised him to walk away next time. “Sometimes you might need to go to bed, have an early nap. Go to the hotel. There’s nothing wrong with that. I do it all the God damn time.”
